Maximising nutrient use efficiency using innovative foliar feeding technologies

Seminar Theatre (Hall 3)
3:00PM - 3:45PM, 22 Jan 2025

This seminar will look at the merits of liquid and foliar fertilisers and how nutrients applied through these methods are taken up by the turfgrass plant and utilised. It will continue on to look at the most recent developments in foliar technologies and the benefits of these for turf managers including minimising nutrient wastage, optimising resource efficiency and promoting environmental stewardship, all of which are becoming essential considerations when choosing fertilisers for use on managed amenity turf.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify and classify different types of foliar fertilisers
  • Compare foliar fertilisers with liquid fertilisers
  • Explain the mechanisms involved in the uptake of nutrients through the leaf
  • Evaluate how innovative foliar technologies can minimise nutrient wastage, optimise resource efficiency and promote environmental stewardship
