Shining a Light on Greenkeeping

Synopsis: Greenkeeping is facing a crisis in respect of recruitment and retention.  It is a part of the golf industry often unvalued and not recognised for the professionalism greenkeepers deliver day in day out.  Externally, few realised the benefits and the career opportunities that exist at all levels.

Cohort 7 of The R&A Women in Golf Leadership Development Programme recently undertook a project to identify the recruitment challenges and barriers for greenkeeping globally and with a particular emphasis on the recruitment of women to this sector of the industry. 

The presenters will share the findings from the research and provide insight into the opportunities that exist.  They will outline how a collaborative, tactical communication campaign could support in promoting the career opportunities, benefits and change perception of working in the profession.
