The chemistry we use for turf - a visual demonstration!

Seminar Theatre (Hall 3)
2:00PM - 2:45PM, 22 Jan 2025

Paul will talk about the chemical elements used by plants and some of the products that are applied to maintain sports turf. As he does, he will dose a large vessel with different products and explain what they do. There will be lots of insights into products and some interesting chemical reactions to see. The visual display will culminate in a spectacular (but safe) chemical reaction!

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the role that various chemical elements have on the maintenance of sports turf
  • Learn about what types of products we use to give the different inputs
  • Visually see the effects of various chemistries as they are dosed into a display tank
