With the Defra national water target of a 9% reduction in non-household consumption by 2038 – what does this mean for Golf Courses.?

Are there any opportunities for Golf Courses to seek alternative options for irrigation?
With recent announcements in relation to water price increases what are the water companies’ plans for smart meter installation giving Water Retailers and potentially all their golf customers, access to hourly data, which will provide more accurate data on actual use and help identify ‘continuous flow’ or leak notification.
With a high percentage of venues relying on potable water and potential abstraction licence reductions what options are available to provide future water security?
